Encouragement for your daily
walk with God
As
a Christ follower, your life is a potential blessing to everyone you meet.
That’s right, your life affects those you meet positively or negatively,
whether you intend it or not.
An
important question to ask is “Are others
strengthened and encouraged in their faith because of your relationship?” And,
“Do you see others in terms of what they
can do for you or how you can enrich them?”
There’s
no question how Paul answered those questions. He desired to leave a spiritual
blessing with others he met. The Christ followers at Rome are a prime example.
He had not yet been to Rome, yet he longed to visit and encourage them—to build
them up. He consistently prayed for them (Romans 1:10). And even before he
visited them, he wrote a letter to them. We know that letter as the Book of
Romans, a letter consider by many Christ followers as the most beloved book in
the New Testament.
We
would do well to follow Paul’s example and leave a spiritual blessing as we go
about our daily activities. Opportunities are all around us; to strengthen our
parents or children, our friends, our co-workers or classmates, and other
Christ followers. When we put our self-centeredness aside, we can focus on
blessing others instead of seeking blessings from others.
Paul
had a quality ministry like that and you can have it too. As you go about your
day, strive to be a positive influence on everyone you meet!
For I long to see you, that I may
impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established. (Romans 1:11)
