Encouragement for your daily
walk with God
This
should be a simple test for any Christ follower. Which statement would you
prefer to be said about you?
a)
He/She is nothing but a quitter
b)
You can count on him/her
a)
He/She is a back-stabber
b)
He/She will never let you down
a)
He/She would betray his/her Mother for a few bucks
b)
He/She is a stand-up guy/girl
OK,
did you answer “b” to all the questions? Of course you did! But why? Is it
because we instinctively know that unfaithfulness, disloyalty, betrayal, and
unreliability are a bad thing? Stated positively, we know that faithfulness is
a good thing.
In
all of my studies, I haven’t found a single civilization that considered
unfaithfulness a good thing—none! That’s because faithfulness is a godly
virtue. Faithfulness is good, and unfaithfulness is not. But, you knew that
already, didn’t you?
A
Christ follower must be faithful. I’d like to think this could be said of every
Christ follower, “Dear friend, you are
faithful in what you are doing…” (3rd John 5 NIV).
[Jesus]
was faithful to God, who appointed Him,
just as Moses served faithfully and was entrusted with God’s entire house.
Hebrews 3:2
