A Masterpiece in the Making

Encouragement for your daily walk with God

How much would pay for a masterpiece? Or let me ask it this way, what is a masterpiece really worth? All it took was a little over 8 minutes to set the record price for a piece of art sold at auction. Christie's sold Pablo Picasso's Nude, Green Leaves and Bust, a painting created in the span of a single day in 1932, for $106.5 million dollars. It’s amazing how much people are willing to pay for one painting, yet countless millions are spent each year for priceless works of art.

Some would suggest that a masterpiece is about the work itself. I’m suggesting that a masterpiece is not about the “what,” it's about the “who” — there is a “master” behind each masterpiece.

YOU are a masterpiece! There is a Master working on you. Day by day, His perfect touch is shaping you into the masterpiece He envisions you to be. You can trust His craftsmanship; every brush stroke, every chisel mark, every color reveals His artistry as He makes you more and more into the image of His Son.

So realize that you are a work of God—created for good works. You are highly valued, both now, and in Eternity.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
