Be Resolved

eDevotion
Encouragement for your daily walk with God

Jesus is the supreme example of resolve for every Christ follower. When it was time for Him to go to the cross, He “set His face toward Jerusalem.” Even though He ministered to people along the way, nothing would prevent Him from accomplishing what His Father wanted Him to do.

Distractions are easy to come by. Just when you think you know what God wants you to do, it seems that everything and everyone requires your immediate attention. If that describes you, set your sights on the goal with full determination. Resolve to accomplish it (Proverbs 4:25).

Beware of getting sidetracked by other opportunities around you. Even if you’re tempted to delay or discard your obedience altogether, don’t lose sight of the goal. When you receive a clear assignment from God, your response should be unwavering obedience.

Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem. (Luke 9:51)
