Encouragement for your daily
walk with God
Make
no mistake about it Christ followers have a problem with it. At times we motor
through life at breakneck speed until we are worn out or stressed out. Can I
get a witness? Well, have I got good news for you! Our risen Christ wants to
renew us, to strengthen us. And the key to getting that strength is to wait on
the Lord.
Unfortunately,
our generation does not enjoy waiting. We rush from one commitment to the next.
We attempt to put one fire out after another. Seldom do we stop and evaluate
what we are doing. Is it possible that rushing at breakneck speed we race ahead
of God?
God
does have a restoration plan for all Christ followers, but it involves waiting.
While biblical waiting isn’t necessarily passive, it does require us to put
aside our personal pursuits and give God our undivided attention.
Jesus
was the perfect example of this. No one has ever carried more responsibilities
than He had. Yet we see Him neither overwhelmed nor inadequate for the tasks He
faced. And now He guides us in such a way that we have the renewed strength we
need (Matthew 11:28).
But those who wait on the Lord Shall
renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall
run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
