Encouragement for your daily
walk with God
People
become known for certain things. Picasso. Jonas Salk. John Wilkes Booth. The
mere mention of these names will probably summon a single event or
accomplishment for each of them. The same can be said of Bible characters too.
Noah. Elijah. Herod the Great. Judas. Did something come to mind at the mention
of their names?
There
is one person who embodies the title of this devotion. Andrew: He brought
people to Christ.
He
brought his brother, Simon, to Christ. (John 1:42)
He
brought a boy with 5 loaves and two fishes to Christ. (John 6:8-9)
He
brought Greeks to Christ (John 12:20-22)
I
can’t find a single sermon he preached. Neither do we see him personally
involved in performing a miracle. He did not write a single word of Scripture.
But he is remembered because he brought people to Christ.
What
a role model for all Christ followers! We are not responsible to convict people
of sin. Our role is not to change people’s lives. Of course, we can’t save
them. But we can lead people to the Savior. Then He can do what He does best;
accomplish the divine in their lives.
He first found his own brother Simon,
and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which is translated,
the Christ). (John 1:41)
